Tour the Autry Museum July 30 at 10:30am....FREE!

Join your chapter members for a very special and unique event. Not only will you be able to tour the Autry Museum at no cost, but we have gained special access to their library, including a guided tour. Parking is free as well.

In addition, Deb Hunt and David Cappoli, candidates for the SLA International office of President-Elect in the upcoming September 2011 election, will make an appearance and participate in a question-and-answer session.

A special thanks to Cameron Trowbridge for arranging this event with the Autry.

The day will begin when the museum opens at 11:00am with the President-elect candidates making their presentation. Please arrive around 10:30am so the presentation can start promptly and allow for a question-and-answer period, as it will be a full day. We will plan to congregate in the Plaza area in front of the museum entrance where we will be provided with stickers that will distinguish us as Autry guests.

After the presentation you may purchase lunch in the Autry Golden Spur Café, or in groups of fifteen, tour the library.

After the tour, you are free to visit the museum and see the exhibits and collection. The Autry Museum is featuring an exhibit of the development of aviation in Southern California featuring dirigibles and zeppelins called Skydreamers. More info on this exhibit is available at http://theautry.org/exhibitions/skydreamers

There are six ongoing exhibitions in addition to the Museum collection. You may view the descriptions of the ongoing exhibitions at http://theautry.org/exhibitions

The museum closes at 5:00pm on Saturdays

Attendance is limited to fifty, so please RSVP to mmlee@flash.net
